Smart Tags

A Smart Tag is a saved filter that updates automatically as your library changes. You define which books belong; BookVault keeps the results current.

Build one from rules

Smart Tags use the same fields and comparisons as book-list filters. For example, you could create:

• Unread books under 300 pages
• Wishlist books releasing this year
• Unread books tagged Book of the Month
• Finished audiobooks in a particular category

When a book begins or stops matching the rules, it enters or leaves the Smart Tag automatically.

Smart Tags and regular tags

Add a regular tag directly to a book when the label is a personal fact or choice. Use a Smart Tag when membership can be calculated from existing information.

Tip

Start by building and testing the filters in a book list. Once the results look right, use the same rules for your Smart Tag.
