Your First Library
When you first open BookVault, you can start with an empty library, import books from another app, or add your first book manually.
Main navigation
Section titled “Main navigation”BookVault is divided into five main sections.
Home brings together what is most relevant to your reading right now.
Depending on your library, it may show:
- Books you are currently reading.
- Books from your shelf that you have not started.
- Your daily reading objective and streak.
- Upcoming releases already saved in your library.
- A quote selected from your saved highlights.
Library
Section titled “Library”The Library is the central place for browsing and organizing your books.
It lets you explore the same collection from different perspectives, including:
- Reading status
- Ownership
- Categories
- Authors
- Series
- Tags
- Formats
- Languages
- Publishers
- Stores
These are not separate libraries. Each section is another way of looking at the books you have already added.
Quotes
Section titled “Quotes”Quotes brings together the passages you have saved from your books.
You can browse them grouped by book or view them as one combined collection.
Stats turns your library metadata and reading sessions into insights about your reading life.
As you use BookVault, this section can show information such as reading streaks, pages read, books completed, purchases, favorite authors, and progress toward your yearly goal.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”Settings lets you customize BookVault, manage notifications, configure library behavior, import data, and protect your collection through synchronization and backups.
The sidebar
Section titled “The sidebar”On iPad and Mac, the sidebar provides quick access to the main sections of the app and frequently used parts of your library.
It may also show entries such as:
- Reading
- Next
- Completed
- DNF
- Authors
- Tags
- Categories
Selecting one opens a book list containing every matching book.
Add your first book
Section titled “Add your first book”Use the + button on Home or Library to add a book.
You can:
- Search for it online.
- Scan its ISBN barcode.
- Create it manually.
You can also import an existing collection from a supported app.
